The services provided by the GATE Portal

The gate.paris-saclay.fr website is an information and appointment tool for certain administrative procedures for international nationals of higher education and research institutions in the Plateau de Saclay.

International nationals will find on the GATE portal all the information on the administrative procedures to be carried out before their arrival in France. They will also have the opportunity to make appointments with GATE partners and thus attend interventions or private interviews in order to secure their administrative path.

The display of legal notices is an obligation under the law of 21 June 2004 for trust in the digital economy.

Personal Data Charter

Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016

Regulation on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation)

This “Personal Data Charter” aims to inform users of the policy to which GATE is committed in order to respect their Personal Data. This charter describes the methods for managing Personal Data concerning appointments with GATE coordinators and partners.

Purpose of the processing operation

The gate.paris-saclay.fr website is an information and appointment tool for certain administrative procedures for international nationals of higher education and research institutions in the Plateau de Saclay. The meetings are managed by the coordinators and partners of GATE.

Nature of the data processing

Purposes: Management of meeting requests from GATE partners, facilitating the search for information for each international national from the Paris-Saclay University sector, regardless of their registration institution, family status or status. This treatment allows students to make an appointment request on the GATE portal and subscribe to events.

Legal basis: Article 6-e of the General Data Protection Regulation – DGPS: (e) the processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.

The one-stop shop for foreign talent is implemented within the framework of the framework agreement signed on 6 September 2018 between the Prefect of Essonne, the President of the COMUE Université Paris-Saclay, the President of the Université Paris-Sud and the President of the Association Science Accueil.

Data controller

The gate.paris-saclay.fr site is a site run by the University of Paris-Saclay and owned by the University of Paris-Saclay (Espace Technologique – Bâtiment Discovery Route de l’Orme aux Merisiers – RD 128 91190 Saint-Aubin)

The gate.paris-saclay.fr website is hosted by the Information Systems Department of the University of Paris – Sud.

Recipients of personal data

Depending on their respective needs, the recipients of all or part of the data are: the universities and higher education institutions of the Saclay plateau, which are members of the Université Paris-Saclay, and GATE’s partners. No data transfers outside the European Union are made.

Retention of personal data

The personal data collected for appointment scheduling and subscription to the GATE calendar are stored for one year. After this date, the data collected will be deleted. As controller, the Université Paris-Saclay implements appropriate techniques and organisational measures to protect personal data.

 

Your rights on the data concerning you

The University of Paris-Saclay and its partners undertake to do everything possible to ensure that users’ personal data are:

  • obtained and processed fairly and lawfully
  • collected for the specified, legitimate purposes and to limit their use to those purposes
  • adequate, relevant and not excessive in relation to these purposes
  • accessible and benefit from a right of rectification or deletion following a request sent by post or e-mail to the controller referred to above
  • kept in accordance with the purposes pursued. The Crous undertake to implement the
  • necessary means to ensure the security of the data in order to prevent it from being damaged, modified, destroyed or communicated to unauthorised third parties.

The user has a general right of access, rectification and deletion of all personal data concerning him/her that has been collected as part of his/her appointment. To benefit from it, he must go to the “Help” section and make a request via the contact email.

Management of personal data

Personal data refers to any information that directly or indirectly identifies a natural person. We may collect and store your Personal Data, particularly when you browse the site or make an appointment with one of GATE’s partners. This data is used to process your request, and to improve our services. This information is not passed on or sold to third parties.

In accordance with Law 78-17 of 6 January 1978 (amended by Law 2004-801 of 6 August 2004 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data) relating to data processing, files and freedoms, you have the right to access, rectify and delete data concerning you, online on this site. To exercise this right, you can send us a message to the following address: GATE@universite-paris-saclay.fr.

If necessary, depending on the request, we are entitled to ask you to complete your message with a written and signed request, accompanied by a copy of the identity document with the signature of the document holder, specifying the address to which the reply should be sent.

Declaration to the CNIL

In accordance with Law 78-17 of 6 January 1978 (amended by Law 2004-801 of 6 August 2004 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data) relating to information technology, files and freedoms, the site has been declared to the National Commission for Information Technology and Freedoms (www.cnil.fr).

Disputes and disputes

These conditions are governed by French law and any dispute or litigation that may arise from the interpretation or execution thereof shall fall within the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts on which the registered office of the University of Paris-Saclay depends. The reference language for the settlement of any disputes is French.
